Last Updated: May 7, 2026

1. Introduction

Apex Texas Street Cop ("we," "us," or "our") is a field reference tool designed for law enforcement officers. We prioritize your privacy and the security of the professional data you access. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information Collection & Use

  • Offline-First Data: The core of Apex (Texas Penal Code, Transportation Code, etc.) is stored locally on your device. We do not track or collect your search queries within these offline databases.

  • User-Defined Data: Any "nicknames" or bookmarks you create are stored locally on your device.

  • Account Information: If you subscribe to a Pro tier, we collect basic identifiers (Name, Badge Number, Email) to manage your access levels and verify your status as a law enforcement officer.

3. Data Security & Storage

  • Local Storage: All citable legal data, including the NIH Pillbox Archive and Texas Case Law Summaries, resides in a local SQLite database on your device.

  • Encryption: Consistent with the CJIS Security Policy, we utilize technical controls to protect data "at rest" on your hardware.

  • No Third-Party Tracking: We do not sell your personal data or usage behavior to third-party advertisers.

4. Permissions

The app may request the following permissions to function:

  • Camera: To decode VIN barcodes or photograph evidence for the Quick-Log.

  • Storage: To save generated PDF reports or audio files (e.g., the Spanish "Alto" command) directly to your device.

  • Location: Only if explicitly used for "Jurisdiction Indicators" to confirm local code applicability.

5. Your Rights (CCPA/GDPR Compliance)

In accordance with modern privacy regulations, we support:

  • The Right to Disclosure: You can request a summary of the account information we store.

  • The Right to Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated cloud-synced data at any time.

6. Legal Disclaimer

Apex Texas Street Cop is a reference tool and not a substitute for official department policy or legal counsel. Users are responsible for verifying the accuracy of field data before taking enforcement action.
